This is a refreshing summertime treat. Or a light dessert after a big meal. So simple to make and it tastes surprisingly similar to Haagen Dazs Strawberry Sorbet.
Strawberry Granita
- 1 pound fresh strawberries
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Wash and hull strawberries and process in food processor or blender until smooth. In medium bowl, stir together next three ingredients until sugar has dissolved. Stir in processed strawberries. Pour onto 18 x 13 baking sheet and freeze for 2 1/2 hours, scraping the edges with a fork towards the middle every 30 minutes. Scrape into bowls and serve.
