A Guinness World Record

This morning, our family went to the high school track and watched a piece of history be made. In little ol' Hurricane. Right before our eyes.

Hobie Call, a local resident, lunged his way into the Guinness Book of World Records, lunging for one mile while wearing a 40-lb vest. His time was 33:50. Earlier this year, Hobie broke, I mean shattered, the world lunging record in the time of 24:56 (without any weight added). The previous record was 30:50. You can read about Hobie here.

After Hobie finished, he let everyone hold his vest. Some of you may know what carrying 40 pounds feels like, but in case you don't know, I'll tell you firsthand that it felt like carrying around an elephant without the trunk. Hobie's legs definitely looked as strong as an elephant, but I can't verify that for sure. Hobie didn't let everyone feel his legs.
