A couple of posts back I mentioned hitting a few jackpot places to eat in SLC. One was Five Guys Burger and Fries. The second is Ruth's Diner, in Emmigration Canyon. We sat on the patio for breakfast. Perfect mountain air with lime green foliage all around us. Yes, Lime Green. Vibrant. Totally different from the muted pasty green scrub oak in St. George.
The mile-high biscuits not only melt in the mouth but linger on the taste buds for a pleasingly long time. The pancakes are soft, the hash browns perfectly cooked, tastefully seasoned and NOT greasy. And if you go between 8 and 9 am, the breakfast special is 4.99 for eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns, bacon AND sausage. Oh Ruth, I long to visit you again.
